A HoustonISD Magnet School of Integrated Technology

The Herrera Academy of Technology is a school-wide magnet program of the Houston Independent School District that promotes a high-level integration of technology into the core curriculum. The goal is to develop:

Effective communicators
Problem solvers
Critical thinkers
Proficient users of technology
Effective collaboration and interpersonal communication skills
An environment of innovation and risk-taking!

Herrera Academy of Technology is committed to providing educational foundations for our students’ success.

It is a shared belief of the faculty, community and parents that the high-level integration of technology into the core curriculum will result in the development of students who are successful members of the global community. 

Wireless connectivity and over 400 computers provide students, faculty and parents immediate access to information and communication tools.

In addition, the school utilizes a network of servers to communicate with HISD and a dedicated server for teacher and student use.Integrated technology instruction provides students with many opportunities
